Skills you need to BullyWatch

You need to care about what is happening to young Londoners

It's not rocket science. Try to be compassionate and aware and observe the following:

  • When a young person tells you they are being bullied, you need to believe them.
  • Know you need to stay safe yourself. Never intervene in physical bullying or incidents on the streets.
  • Be vigilant, keep your eyes open for incidents of bullying – bullying can happen anywhere but it is more likely to occur outside schools, on public transport, at bus or train stations, in open spaces, at local take away businesses and shops.
  • Try to use your instinct to discreetly report incidents of bullying to a community safety officer or police officer, a teacher, a parent or your Local Authority.
  • You will know when you see it – please don’t walk away, report it!
